In internal logistics, a smooth and fast material picking and replenishment process is of central importance. Bossard's paperless solution - Pick-by-Light and Put-to-Light - ensures maximum efficiency in the picking and refilling of items through targeted guidance of employees to the right box.
The Bossard SmartBin Cloud and SmartLabel Cloud systems take the next step towards “Smart Factory” by integrating Pick-by- and Put-to-Light solutions in their systems. They equip the warehouse and work cells with LED light signals that guide employees directly to the right box with the right material. In Last Mile Management, the milk run is thus supported in carrying out its material flow efficiently and in a time-saving manner. The article position is found quickly and accurately, thus reducing search times and eliminating picking errors.
For the milk run activity, Last Mile Management automatically generates a digital picking list in the ARIMS Mobile App. As soon as the tour starts, the material to be picked is displayed in the App and activates the Pick-to-light function. The milk run is guided to the correct article position by the LED light signal.
The light displays serially and indicates which items are to be picked in the most efficient order. As soon as the prepared material is acknowledged, the light signal of the next article will light up. This new technology ensures error-free and fast picking performance.
After picking, the material is fed to the work cells. The milk run is supported by the Put-to-light solution. The box to be refilled is displayed in the ARIMS Mobile App and activates the Put-to-light function. The LED light signal indicates the box that must be refilled. This means that article positions are found more quickly, and less time is spent refilling the box at the work cells.
